We are group passionate women living in the Pacific Northwest with a common interest in developing our relationship to the natural world and practicing herbal medicine. Each of us has a unique background of study and expertise. We come together on a monthly basis to share our experience, work with the herbs of our region and expand the frontiers of medicine in our culture. This blog chronicles our meetings and individual herbal encounters.

hi ladies! wonderful, wonderful site. i tried to search the archives, but then realized everything you guys wrote was from the last few days. i am amazed and excited to read your writings. thanks and keep it up!
Hi Celia, thank you so much for the kind words. I’ve been a fan of your site for sometime. Keep checking back as we hope that many of the other women in our group will be posting as well. Thanks!
Job well done, Ladies!
I’ve learned a great deal just in the last 20 minutes of reading your content.
I’m passing the website on to others.
Many Thanks!!!
Angela
Thank you Angela, your supportive words are so appreciated. We promise to entice you with more great thoughts and information in the future.
Thank you for this wonderful site. I live in Central Oregon, a transplant from the Deep Gulf South–Land of daily summer rain, Herculean heat, and an essentially 8-9 month growing season.
Foraging is easy there and since moving here I’ve gone back many years to the first days of searching for wild-growing herbs in this completely new environment. What a wonderful way to restart “herbing.”
Since reading your blog, I’m going to go into the Ponderosa of this region and look for elderberries (I recently returned from South Louisianna where I noted the elderberries in a second bloom) which I’ve not yet found in this location. I’m very anxious to find this plant since we are threatened with a dangerous new flu virus this year (H1N1).
I’m also going to go down to the river bank and see if I can find nettle seed, which I’ve never used before–never even knew I could use it! Thanks for that info.
I love your site and my dusting and sweeping and laundry folding are waiting for me to finish surfing it!
Blessings, G
Hi Gigi,
Thank you very much for your kind words. The PNW has so much to offer herbally, Im glad we could inspire you.
Kate, I found it! Tugged my way through all the confounded ins and outs of the internet maize to come upon the medicine women blog finally! It’s beautiful and I love all the photos you have added. And some wonderful stories and poems to share.

Love you site. Any ideas for boosting fertility in a 40 yr old woman?
Thanks!
Hi Bliss,
Infertility can be frustrating! I would recommend you see an acupuncturist who also is trained in Chinese Herbal Medicine. Acupuncture can regulate hormonal imbalances, increase uterine thickness, support egg implantation etc. In most large cities, there are clinics devoted solely to fertility enhancement. I’m not sure where you reside but I’m sure you can find someone local. Let me know if you have any further questions.
In the meantime, get under that moon!
